I have three days left at my current job as a waiter, and knowing that this chapter of my life is fading out to make way for the next, is going to be the one of the most exciting yet heartbreaking moments of my life. I’ve formed some incredibly strong bonds and friendships with the people I work with, the people I work for, and the customers I’ve waited on.

My coworkers know where to find me and how to keep in touch, so I have no worries about maintaining relationships with them. The customers, however, are a different story. I’ve gotten to truly know a few of them (as they have gotten to know me, also) and so I’ve left them with little ‘keep in touch’ cards.

NB: I choose to [mostly] draw myself so that if it comes out ugly, the only person I’m offending is myself. Not because I’m some narcissistic jerk.

Just a few rough mockups for another imaginary business concept. You know, a coffee shop where everything is spiked with alcohol. Peppermint schnapps hot chocolate, Kahlua and Bailey’s everything. Tell me you wouldn’t be interested.

Business card front and back.

Just an icon graphic used for products and store windows.

Hello, this is a mood board and I’m lazy, so I’ll write up the annotations later maybe.

Front window hours of operation graphics.

I suppose a to-go cup is a little unrealistic, except in places like Las Vegas or New Orleans, where open containers are legal.

Screen displaying current music playing.

I might update this post later on with some additional concepts.

I have a beautiful HDTV for a reason: so things look nice. Most networks have stepped up their game, so now it’s time for the onscreen guide to do the same. I’ve done the conceptual work for you, cable providers. Please just make it happen.

Let me be able to choose a color or give me some level of customization. I enjoy changing the color scheme on my Playstation 3 and would enjoy doing it here too.

Get rid of those banner ads that are everywhere. As if I don’t watch enough advertising on the channels themselves. I’m sure it’s not going to make that much of a dent in your profit.

Overall, just be smart and use the screen estate that is generously given by high definition resolutions wisely. I know you can do it!

PS: Yes, I know these schedules make no sense, nor do the times and dates. I just pulled all the information randomly for the sake of having placeholder text.

Nearly every moment not spent at work or in front of the computer has been spent in bed watching netflix or blu-rays and drinking hot tea. I am so over this winter thing.

The lack of interesting “hangout” places in my area is frustrating. I’ll admit it: I like going out for a few good drinks. But really, there’s nowhere to go. Nearly every bar here is either a sports bar or a hole-in-the-wall dive. I just want somewhere to go that plays good music and where everyone’s wearing nice clothes (not camo and dirty jeans). Le sigh.
